How to make

Let us offer you two dried prune recipes.

You can dry the prunes in your home oven. But in that case you will need a little patience, since drying requires a lot of time. Arrange the well washed prunes in a tray. Place them in the oven for 8 hours at a temperature no higher than 130°F (55 °C).

After the first 8 hours, increase the temperature to 150°F (65 °C) for a further 8 hours. After baking for the 16 hours, remove the batch of prunes and let them sit 24 hours at room temperature. Then place them in the oven at 180°F (80 °C) for another 8 hours.

If the oven option is not to your liking, you can dry the prunes in the sun. Arrange the fruits on paper, place them in a sunny and clean area.

It takes 8 to 10 days to fully dry the prunes. 22 lb (10 kg) of prunes yield about 6.5 lb (3 kg) of dried prunes.
