"The tastiest pickles are those that have grown out in the sun and then marinated out in the sun!"

Ingredients

  • cucumbers - by choice
  • amount per jar
  • vinegar - 2/3 cup (160 ml)
  • sugar - 1/3 cup (80 g)
  • salt - 2/5 cup (100 g)
  • garlic - 1 head
  • mustard seeds - a few
  • dill - sprigs
  • sour cherry leaves - 5
measures

How to make

Pierce the cleaned and sliced (if needed) cucumbers with a thick needle in 5-6 places. At the bottom of the 12 1/2 cups (3 liter) jars, place several sour cherry leaves and mustard seeds. Put the cucumbers in, put cleaned garlic cloves between them, add a few sprigs of dill.

On top, you can put 2-3 more sour cherry leaves. Each jar gets 2/5 cup (100 g) of salt, 1/3 cup (80 g) sugar, 2/3 cup (160 ml) vinegar and water to the brim. Close the jars well with caps and place out in the sun for about 40 days.

You can flip them over a few times. Then, store the sunny pickle with cucumbers in a cool area.
