How to make
Spread out the puff pastry, which should have a thickness of about 1/4″ (0.5 cm) and cut it into equal squares. In each square, put on some of the mixed together walnuts, sugar, breadcrumbs and cinnamon. Fold well into triangles and pinch the edges to hold the stuffing in.
Arrange them in a baking dish, covered with baking paper. Put them to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for 10-15 minutes or until they get a nice golden tan. To prepare the syrup, mix 1 1/5 cups (300 g) of sugar with the water, add the lemon rind and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Add the lemon juice and stir. Filter thus prepared syrup and cool it slightly. Dip each of the pies in the slightly warm sugar syrup.
