How to make
Peel the apples, grate them and mix them with half the sugar and the cinnamon. Mix the flour, semolina, half of the remaining sugar separately, then knead them well with the apples and cinnamon.
Pour out the mixture in a suitable buttered tray. Put it to bake in a preheated 390°F (200 °C) oven. Once the pie starts to rise, reduce the heat. Cut an apple into thin slices (if needed, use more fruit).
Shortly before the apple pie is fully baked, take it out and quickly arrange the slices of apples on top, then pour on sugar water and return to bake until finished.
