How to make
Tenderize the steaks with black pepper and salt and fry them in a pan. In an oven dish, put a layer of steaks. Finely grate some carrot and some onions on top - to taste. Place a second layer of steaks and grate onion and carrot again.
Pour in 1 1/5 cups (300 ml) of liquid cream and 2 cups of water. Stew under a lid in the oven at 300°F (150 °C) for 2 hours. Afterwards, arrange slices of processed/smoked cheese on top. Let them brown lightly or just enough to melt.
Serve the steaks 2 at a time. The recipe can be done with a single layer of steaks - and therefore with 1/2 of the other ingredients.
