How to make
The pitted cherries are mashed very well until a paste-like mash is obtained.
Pour into a deep baking pan and add the sugar and water and then stir until a homogenous mixture froms.
Bake in a preheated oven at 320°F (160 degrees) for about 3 hours. Stir periodically.
The result should be a medium-dense topping, suitable for cakes, ice cream, pudding and much more.
