Dissolve the jam with water. Beat the eggs and sugar well and add the oil, sifted flour with baking powder and vanilla, making sure to alternate between the jam and baking powder.
Put the cake to bake in a greased and lightly floured tray or cake pan. Bake in a moderately hot oven and check its readiness with a toothpick. Once finished, you can sprinkle the cooled cake with powdered sugar.
