"One of our favorite recipes from Rhodope cuisine"

Ingredients

  • potatoes - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • feta cheese - 7 oz (200 g)
  • cheese - 3.5 oz (100 g), or feta cheese
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
  • onions - 1 head
  • butter - 2 tbsp
  • garlic - 5 - 6 cloves
  • parsley - 1 tablespoon dry + 1/2 bunch fresh

How to make

Potatoes are peeled and coarsely grated. Mix with the finely grated cheese or feta cheese, add finely chopped onion and finely chopped garlic. Stir and add the dry and finely chopped fresh parsley, the oil and butter.

The blend is mixed thoroughly and poured into a greased tray. Bake in a moderate oven until it gets a light tan on top, then stir with a spoon, pour in a glass of warm water and bake for another 10 minutes. The patatnik is served warm.
