How to make

Cut out template forms from cardboard - animals, stars, Christmas trees, bells, etc.

Sift the flour into a large tray and make a well in the middle. In it, pour the butter, sugar, the 2 eggs beaten in advance with the milk, packet of baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Knead the dough and divide it into three parts.

Roll out each into a very thin crust. Using the templates or forms, cut out the cookies. Using a knife or spatula, move them carefully to a greased tray. Bake them in a moderate to highly preheated oven, until they turn rosy.

Boil a thick sugar syrup from the water and 1/2 cup sugar. Pour a drop of it into a glass of water and if it retains its shape then it's ready. Beat the egg whites to snow and while gradually, constantly beating, add them to the sugar syrup.

Smear the cooled biscuits with the glaze. Once the glaze is dry, store them in boxes.
