Ingredients

  • oil - 2 tablespoons grape seed oil or canola oil
  • onions - 2 medium chopped red heads
  • celery - 1 cup finely chopped
  • peppers - 2 finely chopped "jalapenos"
  • salt
  • black pepper - freshly ground, to taste
  • mince - 16 oz (450 g) beef
  • mince - 16 oz (450 g) pork
  • sauce - 1 ½ cups tomato sauce with lime
  • tomatoes - 8 oz (230 g) sliced, type "Roma" (fresh or canned)
  • lettuce - 1 chopped lettuce or iceberg
  • buns - burger type

How to make

Heat a large, deep skillet on high heat. Add the oil, peppers and celery and sauté them until tender. It will take approximately 2 minutes.

Add the minced meat. Beat the lumps with a wooden spoon. Fry it for about 5 minutes. Pour the tomato sauce with lime in and season it with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and thicken it.

It will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Cut the bun in half. Place the bottom half on a plate. Add some lettuce, a large spoonful of the mixture and a little more lettuce.

Put the top half on and serve.
