"A very rich, very tasty and very original homemade cake with dried fruits."

Ingredients

  • butter - 4.2 oz (120 g), soft
  • powdered sugar - 4.2 oz (120 g)
  • flour - 4.6 oz (130 g)
  • eggs - 5 egg yolks
  • dried fruits - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp (10 g)
  • lemons - peel of half a lemon
  • essence - drops of rum, optional

How to make

Spray the dried fruits with rum flavoring and let them sit while you make the cake. If there are large pieces of fruits such as figs and dates, cut them into smaller pieces. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and add the yolks one by one.

Once you get a fluffy and homogeneous mixture, add the sifted flour, baking powder, grated lemon rind and then mix in the dried fruits. Put the finished cake mixture into a greased, lightly floured rectangular oven dish.

Put the cake with dried fruits in a preheated oven and then immediately reduce the heat to a low setting. Bake slowly so it cooks fully.

Optionally, you can brush the finished cake with powdered sugar, a little melted butter and a little water.

This is the recipe I have been hunting, BUT WILL YOU PLEASE, put the measurements in cups and spoons? Not everyone has a scale and Most Americans do not use the metric system! This is so frustrating for me, I would love to try lots of these recipes, but I am not buying a scale.
I am going to use another bread recipe for this and hope for the best.

Sounds like a nice recipe unfortunate that no oven temperature has been included, it says pre-heated oven and then lower your temperature but what too?Placing the mixture in a rectangle bowl is not enough info. If the rectangle bowl isn't exactly the right size the cake won't turn out right.
