More and more people prefer homemade raw milk. One of the best raw materials for it are hazelnuts, as they are some of the richest in fat among nuts. Furthermore, in contrast to almonds, hazelnuts are softer and thus more easily digestible. Hazelnut milk can be made easily using a blender.
Hazelnuts contain ample amounts of vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and manganese, which are retained in raw form. Because of this, besides being delicious, hazelnut milk is exceptionally healthy.
Hazelnut milk
Ingredients: 1 handful of raw hazelnuts, 1 cup of mineral water.
Preparation: Soak the hazelnuts in a bowl of water overnight (enough to submerge them). The next morning, pour out the water, wash the hazelnuts well and place them in the blender.
Pour in the mineral or other type of purified water, in order to have 1 finger width of it above the nuts. Blend this for 1 to 2 min.
Strain the resulting beige mixture and your milk is ready. Now you have one 1 of milk and 1 cup of ground hazelnuts, which you can use to make something delicious, such as hazelnut cream for example.
Hazelnut milk can be used to make all kinds of treats or can be consumed separately. For example, add a few dates or raisins before blending the hazelnuts - as a sweetener.
You can also add many various other ingredients of your choice to it. To make it fruity-creamy, add slices of banana, peach, apricots and strawberries. To have it acquire the typical "milky" consistency, add 1-2 spoons of raw sesame tahini.
For chocolate milk, add 1-3 tablespoons of raw cocoa. 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon adds flavor and increases metabolism, as well as a packet of vanilla.
1 tablespoon of maca, bee pollen, honey, agave, brown sugar, maple syrup - all of these alter the flavor of the hazelnut milk based on your tastes and desires. Another idea for improving the taste is to substitute the water in the blender with fresh coconut water.
