Taurine

Strenuous Excersize

Taurine is an organic acid that is widely distributed in animal tissues. It is a key ingredient of bile, and is found in the colon, muscle, and brain. Taurine accounts for about 0.1% by weight of a man. Taurine is an amino acid that is at the core of many products that stimulate the nervous system.

Taurine is actually a conditionally essential amino acid and is the second most abundant glutamine amino acid in the muscle tissue. This amino acid is a major component of bile and is found in lower amounts in tissues. An interesting fact is that taurine is not part of the core muscle and simply exists among the amino acids in the muscle cell.

Etymology of the word is a Latin root that comes from the Latin "Taurus", meaning bull (or ox). This is because, first, in 1927, taurine had been isolated from an ox bile by Austrian scientists Friedrich Tiedemann and Leopold Gmelin.

Today taurine is widely used in bodybuilding. It plays the role of the insulin-like agent. This means that taurine may increase the metabolism’s need for glucose and amino acids. Like creatine , taurine has the ability to increase the volume of the cell.

Taurine is quite often used in combination with creatine because it reduces muscle fatigue during strenuous exercise, and can increase the capacity of an exercise. Taurine plays an important role in cell growth.

Scientific data indicates that three times daily intake of taurine of 500 mg may slow protein breakdown. As a dietary supplement for athletes, taurine is recommended in a daily dose of 2-3 g, in two divided doses 30 minutes before and after a workout, taken with liquid.

There is experimental evidence that taurine stimulates glucose into the cells increases them by 50%. It is no accident, that in recent years Taurine is a common ingredient in love and other energy drinks.

Furthermore, in combination with creatine, taurine applies to anabolic steroids because they can, as mentioned, relieve muscle fatigue. Moreover, the amino acid helps in better absorption of other supplements and enhances cell activity.

Origin and composition of taurine

Much of the proposed taurine supplementation is synthetic. Made of 2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acids, or by reaction of Ethylene oxide, with Aqueous sodium bisulfite. Like glutamine, taurine is considered by specialists a rather conditionally essential amino acid.

Sulfonic acid Taurine are unlike most biological molecules containing a weaker carb group. As hinted, Taurine is called an amino acid and actually contains amino acid, but it is not an amino acid in the full sense of the word. This is because it does not contain both taurine and amino acid group.

Taurine is made the body from the amino acids methionine and cysteine with the help of vitamin B6. It remains questionable, however, whether the body can obtain optimal levels of taurine by itself. The food additive taurine has no contraindications and IS often found gelatin (capsules) and stearic acid. These supplements contain no sugar, salt, starch , yeast , wheat, gluten, corn, egg whites, shellfish or preservatives.

Benefits of Taurine

This amino acid has a broad effect and is essential for the normal functioning of various systems in humans. Taurine acts very invigoratingly on the nervous system, increases concentration and focus. It performs basic biological functions - linking amino acids in bile, used to absorb fats and fat-soluble vitamins.

Taurine has potent antioxidant activity and regulates osmosis in cells. Taurine stabilizes cell membranes and is important in the modulation of calcium signaling and more. Taurine is of indispensable importance to the function of the cardiovascular system, and the development and functioning of skeletal muscle, retina and central nervous system.

Overall, Taurine strengthens the immune system and improves vision. It is literally vital for absorption of fats, the absorption of fat soluble vitamins, the functions of the brain and nervous system. Transport of electrolytes across cell membranes is a function of Taurine.

Taurine helps immune functions as a component of white blood cells. It detoxifies the body, reduces cholesterol levels, thereby preventing the occurrence of gallstones. It is vital for the work of the cardiovascular system, causing our memory to run at maximum speed and improves recovery after exercise. The overall effect of taurine is an antioxidant.

Deficiency of taurine

Lack of taurine is possible, from the amino acid’s deficiency are threatened mostly vegetarians. This is because their diet excludes the consumption of meat, dairy products and eggs. The fact is that people with obesity are observed to have reduced levels of taurine in the blood. This in turn can lead you to more actively gain, greater increases in weight and accumulation of excess.

Taurine deficiency can sometimes manifest in functional impairment of certain tissues. It is important to know that strenuous physical exercise, intense exercise and other stresses deplete your levels of taurine, which is a prerequisite for its approval as a food additive. Taurine deficiency can cause damage to the retina of the eye and the weakening of the immune system.
