American Cheesecake

The first cake made from cheese, flour and honey was made before 2000 BC and is believed to be the work of the Greek masters.

There are anthropological data pointing to the Greek island of Samos as the original source of this delicious and unique dessert. Even then, cheesecake was a homage prepared for a wedding cake.

Preparing this dessert can make you a star in the culinary world, at least in your circle of friends and relatives. If you use at least one of these two incredibly delicious cheesecake recipes, you're sure to gain loyal fans with your culinary creations.

American cheesecake

The American version is baked and requires a little more time to prepare and serve.

To prepare the filling you need 2 packs of cream cheese, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1/2 a teaspoon of salt, 4 large eggs.

For the base of the cheesecake you need to have 1/3 tea cup of unsalted butter, 1 1/2 tea cup of crushed biscuits or graham crumbs, 3 tablespoons of sugar and a little melted butter for the base of the dish in which the dessert will be baked.

Preparation: Start off by mixing the ingredients for the base of the dessert. Mix the crushed biscuits with the butter and sugar. With the back of the spoon, the mixture is pressed tightly to the base of the dish. Place the baking pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes.

During this time, prepare the cream. Beat the cream cheese on the lowest speed of the mixer until it acquires a soft and smooth texture. Add the sugar, vanilla and salt, which are beaten for another 3-4 minutes. Then add the eggs, but one by one.

Finally, pour the mixture on the baked base of biscuits and butter. Place it in the preheated oven to 180 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Once it's baked, the baking pan is not immediately removed from the oven, but left in it for an hour with the oven door open. It is then left in the refrigerator overnight.

Cheesecake - no baking required

How to make a cheesecake

If you do not have that much time and the guests will be with you in an hour, then this version of a cheesecake that doesn't require baking will be the perfect end to the evening.

You need a package of biscuits - about 9 oz (250 grams), butter - about 3.5 oz (100 grams), sour cream - 1 lb (450 grams), a package of cream cheese and jam or a chocolate of your choice.

The finely ground biscuits are mixed with the semi-softened butter. The mixture you prepared is spread in a round tray with a removable base (if possible). Press the mixture well to the bottom and cover the top with cream.

It is prepared by mixing the following ingredients well: cream cheese, sour cream and a few tablespoons of sugar (according to your taste), which must be well dissolved. Sprinkle it with the jam of your choice and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
