The culinary use of salvia or garden sage guarantees a remarkable flavor, freshness and enrichment of nutrients to your dishes. Let us offer you 2 recipes with salvia - both contain meat and turn out incredibly juicy and delicious. To make the first one you will need the following ingredients:
Pork with garlic and salvia
Ingredients: pork meat, 3 heads of garlic, black pepper, 4/5 cup white wine, 3 tablespoons soya sauce, oil, 4 tablespoons mustard, fresh salvia leaves.
Preparation: Spike the pork and put cloves of garlic in the incisions, as well as salvia leaves. Sprinkle black pepper on top generously and coat the meat with mustard.
Pour white wine and soya sauce over the meat pieces. Put the remaining garlic cloves in the oven dish next to the meat. Pour in water to the pork, if necessary, and cover everything with foil. Bake in a moderate oven. Serve with mashed potatoes.
The next recipe is for chicken meat with vegetables. This recipe contains many vegetables but you can add or remove ones you don't like. Chop up 2 onion heads, 1 garlic head, 3 carrots, 2-3 peppers, 2 zucchini, 2 potatoes. Put everything in heated oil to braise - add 5–7 salvia leaves.
Add black pepper and salt - include other spices if desired as well. Once the vegetables soften, pour in 1 tablespoon soya sauce and remove from the heat. Put chicken fillets in a grill pan and once they gain a crust, remove them from the heat.
Return the vegetables to the heat but also add the meat to the container. After a few minutes, remove from the stove once again and sprinkle on cheese.
If you want a simpler recipe, simply add salvia to a chicken dish with onions.
Salvia does not go too well with other spices. Its combination with garlic however, is exceptionally successful.
Salvia is an exceptionally popular spice in Italian cuisine - the fresh herb can be used to season various dishes - especially ones with pork and beef. When dried, salvia is quite suitable for seasoning bakery goods.
