Olives grow on a small tree or shrub and grow mainly in Mediterranean countries. In general, olives are eaten raw or they are consumed in the form of olive oil.
Interestingly, however, they can also undergo heat treatment, such as breading. And it is very easy to do, and the result is very tasty.
Breaded olives are an ideal appetizer. Here is how to make your own breaded olives at home:
The products you will need are:
- 200 grams of olives, which before breading you can fill with a filling of your choice;
- Flour, the amount of which is 3/4 cup;
- Flour for rolling, which should be 1/4 cup;
- 1/2 cup of water;
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup, and for breading the olives it is best to use panko breadcrumbs;
- Sea salt flakes and 500 ml of olive oil;
And here's how to make them:
In a bowl, put 3/4 cup of flour, along with the water and mix well. A thick batter should be obtained. Add a pinch of salt. If necessary, you can add more flour or water until you get a thick batter. To bread the olives, first roll them in flour, then in the resulting batter and finally finish off with the breadcrumbs. Heat the olive oil in a suitable pan over high heat. Then fry the breaded olives until golden and serve them with a sauce of your choice. You can serve the breaded olives as an appetizer for any drink.
