How to Remove Chocolate Stains

If you love chocolate, you've probably already encountered the stubborn stains it leaves on fabrics. The composition of this delicacy is such that it immediately impregnates the fibers of the fabric. Can such stains be successfully removed?

How to remove chocolate stains

If you find chocolate stains on your clothes, remember and stick to the following basic rules for dealing with them:

- First, remove the dried upper crust with a blunt object (plastic card, kitchen spatula). Be careful not to damage the fabric;

- Work from the edges of the stain, gradually moving towards the center;

- Always turn the garment inside out before washing;

- Do not use hot water. The optimal value is + 40°C. Otherwise the chocolate will be absorbed even more into the fabric.

Try the following homemade recipes, the ingredients of which are found in every home:

- Concentrated saline solution. To prepare it, use 100 ml of water and pour 50 g of salt into it. Apply liberally to problem areas. If the clothes are old, use salt paste;

- Dishwashing gel. You need a tablespoon of the gel, drop a few drops of water, beat it into a foam, apply it to the fabric and soak it for about 20 minutes;

- Laundry soap. Rub the marks themselves or prepare soapy water, by rubbing a bar of soap on a grater and adding it to a bowl of warm water. Soak colored clothes for one hour;

- A mixture of ammonia and glycerin (1:1) for colored clothes. Moisten a small clean cloth liberally with the solution and apply it to the dirt, hold for 5 minutes. This mixture can be poured directly into water, immersed in it and left for 40 minutes;

- Alcohol-ammonia solution for dark fabrics. Mix the components in a 3:1 ratio, wet a cotton pad with the composition and apply it on the inside and place a paper napkin in front. Wait a few minutes and then wash the clothing;

- Glycerin - egg mixture for denim. Use glycerin and mix it with egg yolk in equal proportions. Apply and leave it for half an hour. Finally, you should rinse the area with water and iron it on the inside;

- Hydrogen peroxide for white clothes. Wet a cotton swab and apply it to the stain for 10-15 minutes;

- Unconcentrated solution of boric acid for white clothes. Add 10 ml of acid to a glass of water. Treat the stains with the solution;

- Milk at room temperature for white clothes. You just need to apply it on the problem area and wait for 15 minutes. After the specified time, remove the remaining milk with the soft side of the sponge and then repeat the procedure.
