"It`s an art in itself making a lean dish such as this that`s also tasty but when you do you`ll never even think about meat."

Ingredients

  • peas - 1 jar or can
  • onions - 1 head
  • carrots - 2
  • tomatoes - 1/2 jar or can
  • garlic - 4 - 5 cloves
  • flour - 1 tablespoon
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
  • bay leaf - 1
  • water - 3 - 4 cups hot
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste
  • dill - 1 tablespoon for sprinkling

How to make

Braise the cleaned and diced onions and carrots in a deep pot.

Braise until the onions soften, then add the cleaned and chopped garlic cloves.

Sprinkle with flour, stir and braise another 1-2 min.

Add the paprika, tomato paste and tomatoes from the jar.

Pour in the peas, pour in 3-4 cups hot water.

Transfer to a tray and bake at 390°F (200 °C) for 30 min.

Upon serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
