"An easy recipe for a country-style tutmanik, that`s also the perfect breakfast for busy homemakers."

Ingredients

  • water - 1 cup
  • yeast - 1 packet, dry
  • ayran - 1 cup
  • honey - 1 tbsp
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • eggs - 1 + 1 for smearing
  • salt - 1 tbsp
  • flour - 3 cups (700 g)
  • feta cheese - 5.5 oz (150 g)
  • butter - 1 tbsp

How to make

Dissolve the honey in the warm water, stir with the dry yeast and leave it to activate. Pour in the flour, add the salt, oil, egg and stir with a fork until you obtain a sticky dough, without pouring in any more flour.

Leave it to rise, covered with a towel, for 30 min. in a warm area. Smear an oven dish with oil, put the doughy ball into it, then spread it out.

Smear with a beaten egg on top, sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese. Distribute small pieces of butter and bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for 30-35 min.

Serve with yoghurt! The perfect Sunday breakfast!
