Ingredients

  • lard - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • yoghurt - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • oil - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • sugar - 1/2 cup (140 g)
  • flour - 2 1/5 cups (550 g)
  • vanilla - 2
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling
  • oranges - juice and rind of 1/2 an orange
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • turkish delight - 10.5 oz (300 g)

How to make

Melt the lard and stir it along with the sugar. Separately, add the baking soda to the yoghurt. Mix all the ingredients, excluding the powdered sugar, and add flour, knead until you get a soft dough that doesn't stick.

Put it in foil in the freezer for 20 min. to harden. Take half of it out and roll it out to 1/8 thick on a floured counter. Cut it into small squares.

Cut the Turkish delight into pieces with scissors to make it easier. Put a piece of Turkish delight in the middle of each square and wrap it into a roll. Preheat the oven to 390°F (200 °C).

Arrange the rolls in a suitable, non-greased oven dish. Once baked, sprinkle them with powdered sugar while still hot. Repeat this process for the 2nd part of the butter dough that's still in the freezer.
