"The aroma of these magically delicious Triangular Puff Pastries are much more effective than an alarm clock at waking everyone up."

Ingredients

  • coconut flakes - 2 tbsp
  • apples - 2
  • walnuts - 3 tbsp, ground
  • puff pastry - 9 oz (250 g)
  • raisins - 2 tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 3 tbsp
  • eggs - 1, for smearing
  • orange zest - to taste
  • almonds
measures

How to make

In a dry pan, toast the coconut flakes lightly. Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes, then transfer them to a bowl.

To them, add the walnuts, coconut flakes, sugar, cinnamon, raisins and orange zest. Mix all the products well.

Take the puff pastry out shortly before you begin using it. Cut it into squares, roughly 4″ (10 cm) per side.

Separately, beat the egg yolks and the egg white. Smear the edges of each square with a little beaten white.

Put some filling in the middle of each square and carefully fold them into a roll or triangle - as you like. Press the edges with your fingers, then with a fork as well.

Arrange the triangular puff pastries in an oven dish with baking paper. Smear them with beaten yolk on top. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake in a preheated 390°F (200 °C) oven for 20-30 min.
