Ingredients

  • butter - 1 cup (250 g)
  • walnuts - 1 1/5 cups (300 g), ground
  • eggs - 6
  • dark chocolate - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • brown sugar - 2/5 cup (100 g) or white

How to make

Grate the chocolate on a grater and melt it in a water bath or microwave. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the yolks with the soft butter into a smooth and fluffy cream. Carefully mix it with the cooled chocolate and ground walnuts.

Beat the whites to a stiff snow and carefully mix with the other mixture. Pour this cake layer mixture into a suitable baking form, laid out with baking paper. Put it to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for a little more than an hour.

Finally, check to see if it's ready with a toothpick. Leave the baked cake layer to cool completely, then cut it carefully into 2 separate ones.

Optionally, heat the wild berry jam just a little so it liquefies and use it to stick the layers together. Smear the top with a little jam as well and pour on the glaze.

To make it, melt the crumbled chocolate with 3 tbsp liquid cream and 1 tbsp butter. Distribute it evenly over the cake and put it in the fridge for a few hours. This Easy Chocolate Cake with Walnuts is a unique chocolate temptation and one of my favorites.
