How to make
Beat the butter or margarine with a mixer for 30 seconds. Add the sugar and beat well. Add the egg, 3 tablespoons of water and the mint essence. With a mixer, add the flour as needed by the mixture, add the rest with a wooden spoon.
Cover the dough and leave it in the refrigerator for approximately 2 hours or until it hardens enough. Divide it into 12 equal parts. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each piece of dough into thin rolls with a length of about 12″ (30 cm).
Cut each roll into 4 pieces with a sharp knife, flatten them and put them 1 1/2″ (4 cm) apart in an oven dish that has not been oiled.
Optionally, sprinkle with colored sprinkles. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 390°F (200 °C) or until hardened.
Let the sticks cool completely on a cooking grid.
