How to make
Knead a dough from the flour, sugar, walnuts, lard, baking powder and vanilla. Set aside 1/4 of it for decoration.
Put the rest of it in a buttered and floured oven dish and arrange the coarsely grated apples on top. Sprinkle with the powdered sugar and a little cinnamon.
Roll out the set aside dough into small strips, arrange them on top of the filling in a lattice pattern. Bake the pie in a heated oven until ready.
