Ingredients

  • filo pastry sheets - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • butter - 7 oz (200 g)
  • walnuts - 2 cups
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • breadcrumbs - 1 cup
  • for the syrup
  • water - 3 cups
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • vanilla essence - 1 - 2 tsp.

How to make

Take a large baking pan and grease it well with butter.

In a bowl, mix the cinnamon, breadcrumbs, walnuts and sugar.

Put two filo pastry sheets in the baking pan and sprinkle them with the filling and a little butter.

Place two more filo pastry sheets on top and continue stacking the Turkish Baklava until you run out of products.

Cut it into triangles or rhombuses and put it to bake at a low temperature.

Mix the water with the sugar and vanilla on the stove.

Allow the finished sugar syrup to cool and pour it over the baklava.
