Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Combine the egg yolks with half the powdered sugar, oil, milk, flour and baking powder. Beat the ingredients very well and pour them into a pre-greased baking tray. Bake the cake until lightly browned.
Meanwhile, peel and cut the pears into thin slices, and whip the egg whites with the remaining 1 cup of powdered sugar. Remove the cake, arrange pieces of fruit on top of it and pour on the egg whites.
Bake the cake for a few minutes until the egg whites are lightly browned.
