How to make
Brown rice with mushrooms and raisins, which will charm you.
Wash and strain the raisins.
Wipe the mushrooms and cut them into slices and cut the onion into small cubes.
Heat the oven to 390°F (200°C).
In a wide pan with a lid (which can be used in the oven), fry the onion until translucent, sprinkle with turmeric and continue to fry for a few more minutes.
Add the mushrooms, salt, black pepper, stir a few times and after 5-6 minutes mix the brown rice, the crushed broth cube and the raisins.
Cover with water, place the lid on and place in a preheated oven so the rice can absorb all the liquid. Bake for about 35-45 minutes or until the rice puffs up.
Sprinkle with parsley, drizzle with lemon juice and serve as a meat side dish or as stand alone rice dish.
Note: The rice can be soaked in advance according to the instructions on the package.
