Ingredients

  • cherries - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • yogurt - 1 cup
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1 cup + 4 tbsp. for caramel
  • vanilla powder - 1 pc. (0.2 g) or essence (1 tsp)
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp (10 g)
  • flour - 1 1/2 cups
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Pit the cherries and arrange them in the bottom of a mold with a removable ring.

Put 4 tbsp. of sugar in a pan and caramelize it.

Add the butter and mix until homogeneous.

Drizzle the cherries with the caramel.

Beat the eggs until fluffy with the help of a mixer - add the sugar and continue beating.

Add the yogurt and oil.

Add the vanilla.

Sift the flour along with the baking powder and add it to the liquid ingredients in parts, by mixing gently.

Pour the finished cake mixture evenly over the cherries.

Bake the cherry cake in preheated oven until fully baked.

Leave the summer cake to cool by turning it over onto a suitable tray.

Carefully remove the ring.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar!

Serve the Upside-Down Cake with Caramelized Cherries, by cutting into appropriate pieces.
