How to make
Melt the butter on the stove in a cake tin.
Four tablespoons of sugar are added to it. Allow the sugar to turn a caramel color, then remove the cake tin from the heat.
Peel the pears, clean them of seeds, cut lengthwise into thin slices and arrange them in a circle on top of the caramel.
In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until creamy. With continuous stirring, pour in a thin stream, first the fresh milk, and then the oil.
The flour is sifted and in portions together with the baking powder, vanilla and ginger are added to the rest of the beaten products.
Mix until smooth and spread over the pears.
The pear cake is baked in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes.
When it's ready, take it out of the oven, let it cool slightly and turn it over onto a tray or plate.
Serve the upside-down cake with pears sprinkled with powdered sugar.
