Ingredients

  • puff pastry - chilled 2 packages from 275 g /total 550 g/
  • cottage cheese - 9 oz (250 g) creamy
  • vanilla pudding - 2 tbsp. Dr. Oetker
  • powdered sugar - 4 tbsp. or to taste
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed
  • lemon peel - grated on 1/2 lemon
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • For spreading
  • yolk - 1 pc.
  • milk - 1 tbsp.
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Place the cottage cheese, sugar, dry pudding, lemon peel and juice and eggs in a bowl.

Mix very well, if possible until smooth with a mixer.

Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C) and cover its large tray with baking paper.

The puff pastry is rolled out into one sheet and spread with a thick layer of the mixture. It is covered with the second sheet and with a sharp knife I cut it into strips /2 cm wide/.

Each strip is twisted and arranged in the tray. This is how the other puff pastry sticks are prepared. At times the filling may come out, but this is not fatal.

They are smeared with a yolk mixed with a spoonful of water and the easy puff pastry sticks are put to bake in a fully heated oven for about 13-15 minutes or until they are visibly ready and have acquired an appetizing color.

With puff pastry, it is best for it to be toasted than to remain raw on the inside.

Cool it on a wire rack. The cooled desserts are sprinkled with powdered sugar.
