How to make
Pour the water and sugar into a large saucepan on the stove.
Once the liquid boils, add the rum and let it cool.
In a suitable mixer with a bowl, beat the egg yolks with half the sugar, until a fluffy cream is obtained.
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar.
Mix the two mixtures using a silicone spatula - gradually add a little flour.
Pour the finished mixture into a baking pan onto baking paper and bake it in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) until done.
Take out the sweet roll and wrap it up. Leave it to cool, unwrap it and pour it with the syrup.
Spread the dulce de leche cream on it and roll it up again.
Sprinkle this Sweet Italian Roll with powdered sugar and enjoy.
