"We have always wondered what is the best wine to go with Baked Fresh Goat Cheese with Honey and Nuts, any ideas."

Ingredients

  • goat cheese - 9 oz (250 g) fresh, not salted

  • walnuts - 2 tbsp. chopped
  • pistachios - 2 tbsp. chopped, not salted
  • thyme - 1 pinch
  • olive oil - 1 tbsp.

How to make

Fresh goat cheese is usually stored in a liquid, so you need to dry it well and leave it at room temperature for about 30 minutes on absorbent kitchen paper.

It can be in a rectangular or round shape and the thickness is according to the size. If it's too thick, cut it in half lengthwise.

Toast the nuts briefly in a dry pan, if your pistachios are roasted, do this only with the walnuts.

Heat a non-stick pan over high heat, add a little olive oil and sear the cheese on both sides, until it has nicely browned and acquires a crust.

Remove it immediately, spread it with honey and sprinkle it with the nuts and a pinch of thyme. I also use thyme honey, which enhances the aroma even more.

Serve the baked cheese right away while it's warm.

This Baked Fresh Goat Cheese with Honey and Nuts is a perfect appetizer for your glass of wine.

Enjoy your meal!
