Ingredients

  • For the caramel
  • sugar - 7 oz (200 g)
  • butter - 3.2 oz (90 g) diced, at room temperature
  • cream - 1/2 cup (120 ml) at room temperature
  • For the cake
  • apples - 3 peeled and cut into crescents
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • oil - 3 tbsp.
  • yogurt - 6 tbsp. + 1 tsp. baking soda
  • flour - 1 1/2 cups
  • raisins
  • walnuts (optional)

How to make

Prepare a baking pan lined with baking paper.

Heat the sugar in a saucepan over a moderate heat and wait, until it melts, but be careful not to burn it. Once it has completely melted, add the butter and stir vigorously to mix everything.

Then slowly add the cream. Leave it on the stove for a minute, then pour it into the already prepared baking pan and spread the prepared caramel evenly.

Carefully arrange the apples on top, by pressing them lightly.

The oven is heated to 360°F (180°C).

In a bowl, beat the eggs well with the sugar with the help of a wire whisk. Add the oil, the yogurt with the dissolved soda and the flour. Stir well after each addition.

Finally, if desired, add raisins + some nuts.

Pour the mixture over the apples and caramel and bake the apple cake for about 30 minutes.

While the Apple Cake with Creme Caramel is still warm, it is turned over onto a large flat plate.
