Ingredients

  • potatoes - 1 pc.
  • beef minced meat - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • minced pork - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • onion - 1 onion
  • water - 1/4 cup
  • mustard - 1 tbsp.
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp.
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • sage - 1/4 tsp.
  • For the dough
  • flour - 5 oz (140 g)
  • water - 4 tbsp.
  • butter - 4 oz (110 g)
  • salt - a pinch
  • sugar - a pinch

How to make

Start by making your pie dough. Mix the flour, salt and sugar together.

Add the butter and knead into a crumbly dough. When the consistency becomes crumbly, add the water and knead a soft but non sticky dough. Wrap the finished dough with foil and leave in the refrigerator.

Heat the oven to 430°F (220°C).

Peel the potatoes and dice them. Place the potatoes in a pot and pour enough water to cover them.

Boil them for about 5 minutes, or until they soften. Strain the water and mash them.

Stew the onion and garlic separately. When they soften, add the two types of minced meat and season accoding to your taste.

When the minced meat becomes crumbly, add the mustard. Remove it from the heat and add the mashed potatoes. Stir, until everying is mixed well.

From the finished dough, roll out two crusts of the same size. Place one crust in a greased baking pan, by lifting to cover the sides of the baking pan.

Pour the finished mixture and spread the filling evenly.

Cover with the second crust and seal well to prevent the filling from escaping. Make several transverse cuts. Bake the savory pie for about 20 minutes, or until it aquires a golden brown color.

The appetizing minced meat pie is ready.
