How to cook
The red lentils are washed and soaked for 2 hours. When ready, rinse and strain them very well.
The carrot is grated and dried well.
In a chopper, grind the onion, garlic, grated carrot, parsley and tomato puree, if it will be used. The lentils are then added to them and everything is grinded together.
The mixture should be dry and sticky. If there is liquid, the vegetarian patties will not form well and should be pressed first, in order to drain the liquid as much as possible.
The lentil patties are formed from the mixture. Bake them arranged onto baking paper in an oven heated to 390°F (200°C) or fry them.
If baking, first bake for 10 minutes and then flip them for 10 minutes to bake on the other side.
The red lentil patties can be served on their own with some garlic sauce, with a salad or prepared vegetables as a side dish.
