How to make
The pears have to be small to fit inside the juicy chocolate cake!
Peel them and remove the seeds. Leave them with the stems.
In a small pot, pour the wine, add a small piece of cinnamon, vanilla and sugar.
Put the pears upright, it doesn't matter if the liquid doesn't cover them. Cover the pot and put it on the stove. Boil the fruit for 7-8 minutes, then remove them and place them onto kitchen paper to drain and cool.
Beat the eggs into a bowl. Add both types of sugar and beat, until a frothy mixture is obtained.
Add the cocoa, baking powder and a pinch of salt to the flour. Sift it and add it in portions to the beaten eggs.
Grease and flour a 9″ (22 cm) detachable cake tin. Pour the prepared mixture in it, smooth it out and arrange the pears with the stems facing upward, by pressing them down slightly to sink.
Bake the pear cake at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
Check it with a toothpick to see if it is fully baked.
Cool the finished chocolate cake with whole pears on a wire rack!
Enjoy!
