Ingredients

  • bread - 1 pc. (round village - style bread)
  • tomatoes - 2 large pcs.
  • mozzarella - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • sliced olives - 5 pcs.
  • olive oil - 4 tbsp.
  • salt

How to make

Cut the bread in half. Bake it in a baking pan in the oven, until it aquires a lightly golden color. Take it out and brush well with olive oil. Peel the tomatoes and cut them into cubes.

Cut the mozzarella also into cubes and the olives into slices. Arrange the tomatoes, mozzarella and olives on top of the spread with olive oil bread.

Drizzle with olive oil. Season with as much salt as you like and garnish with fresh basil.

P.S: Pane Cunzato means seasoned bread and is a huge open sandwich. It's made by taking freshly baked bread, still warm from the oven, and spraying it with olive oil. Then the filling is according to taste.
