Ingredients

  • minced meat - 1.11 lb (500 g)
  • onion - 1 large onion
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • mushrooms - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • tomato puree - 2 tbsp.
  • universal sauce - 1 tbsp.
  • red wine - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • vegetable broth - 2/3 cup (150 ml)
  • rosemary - a sprig
  • black pepper
  • cheddar cheese - 3.5 oz (100 g)

  • for the mashed potatoes
  • potatoes - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • butter - 1.8 oz (50 g)
  • milk - 4 tbsp (60 ml)

How to make

Peel the potatoes, cut them into small cubes, cover them with water and boil them. Mash them, add butter and milk and stir, until a fluffy mixture is obtained. Season them with a little salt.

The finely chopped onions and garlic are stewed in fat. Add the chopped mushrooms. Cook, until they soften. Add the minced meat, which is cooked, until it's fully cooked.

Add the tomato puree, Universal sauce and pour it over the wine and vegetable broth. Cook for 15 minutes. Season with rosemary, black pepper and salt, if necessary.

Half of the mashed potatoes are spread out in a baking pan. Spread the minced meat mixture on it and place the rest of the puree on top.

The prepared shepherd's pie is sprinkled with grated cheddar.

Bake it in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.
