Ingredients

  • For the mince
  • minced meat - 1.1 lb (500 g) pork and beef
  • tomatoes - 1 pc.
  • onions - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • black pepper - a pinch
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • olive oil - 2 tbsp.
  • peas - one handful
  • For the mashed potatoes
  • potatoes - 7 medium sized
  • heavy cream - 1 cup (250 ml)
  • white pepper - a pinch
  • cheddar cheese - 7 oz (200 g)

How to make

First chop the onion and carrot finely and saute them in a pan with a little oil.

Once they are cooked, add the pees and minced meet and cook some more. Finally add one diced tomato, salt and black pepper.

Boil the potatoes mash them well, by adding the cream and some fresh milk, if you wish. Add salt and pepper and stir until all the ingredients are nicely incorporated.

Take a baking dish, place the mince mix and level it with a fork. Add the mashed potatoes on top of the mince.

Bake the Sheperd's Pie in a preheated oven to 360°F (180 degrees) for around 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the grated cheddar cheese and bake for 10 more minutes.

Serve the Shepherd's pie warm.
