Ingredients

  • sweet potatoes - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • parsley - 2 stalks
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • soft butter - 1 tbsp.
  • dry bread - 1.7 oz (50 g)
  • yellow cheese - 2 2/3 tbsp (40 g) hard
  • garlic - 1 stalk (fresh, large)
  • black pepper - 2 pinches (or by taste)
  • cumin - 2 pinches
  • breadcrumbs - for thickening (if needed)
  • flour - for rolling
  • oil - for frying

How to make

Peel and boil the sweet potatoes and strain them from the water. Add the butter, black pepper and salt to it and blend without trying to make the mixture perfectly fine. You can also mash it with a fork.

Leave the mashed potatoes to cool and add the egg to it.

In a blender, grind the bread, fresh garlic, yellow cheese and parsley together.

Add the mixture to everything else, season with cumin and more salt, if necessary. These appetizing potato patties go great with something spicy, so if you like, add hot paprika or crushed dried peppers.

Stir the mixture and if it is thin, thicken with a little breadcrumbs to make it easy to shape.

Heat the oil over medium heat. Shape the balls, roll them in flour and flatten them to shape them like patties.

Fry the fluffy patties, until they aquire a golden color and then take them out and place them onto kitchen paper, so that it can absorb excess fat.
