How to make
Mix the marmalade with water in a plastic bowl. Add the cinnamon and crushed cloves. Sift the flour and mix it with the hartshorn.
Add the granulated sugar to the products and stir the mixture with a mixer. Add the flour spoon by spoon, alternating between the flour and oil.
Take a small size baking dish and smear margarine on the bottom and around the edge. Right before baking, add the walnuts to the mix, stirring carefully. Bake in a moderately heated oven at 390°F (200 °C).
Initially, turn on the bottom element for baking. Once the dough rises to about 2″ (5 cm), switch the top one on. Having caught a light crust on top, check if the cake is baked using a toothpick.
While still warm, sprinkle it with plenty of powdered sugar.
