How to make
Mix the flour with 3 tablespoons of sugar and salt, add 4 oz (115 g) of cold chopped butter and 1.7 fl oz (50 ml) of cold water, then knead the dough for the base. Don't knead it too much.
Spread it in a round pan (diameter 22 cm), pierce the base with a fork and cover it with baking paper.
Bake it for 10 minutes at 390°F (200 degrees). Remove the baking paper.
Bake the base for another 10 minutes at the same temperature.
Pour 7 oz (200 g) of sugar into a pot on the stove, add the starch, 4 oz (115 g) butter, milk and the vanilla seeds and then boil the mixture, stirring until it's boiling.
Pour the mixture over the base, then bake it for 15-20 minutes at 430°F (220 degrees).
Sprinkle the cream pie with cinnamon.
The American cream pie is ready.
