How to make
In a bowl, beat the egg with the yogurt.
Add oil, semolina, vanilla and baking powder.
Stir the mixture with a wire whisk.
Add the flour in three portions and mix it to obtain a soft dough.
Form two wicks and cut them into equal parts and each one is formed into a ball - the size of an apricot.
Arrange them in a tray onto baking paper.
Bake the Turkish pastries at 360°F (180°C) for about 20-25 minutes until they aquire a golden color.
The sugary syrup is boiled for 5 minutes in advance and cooled.
Pour a ladle over the pastries and let them soak in it. Arrange the syrupy pastries onto a plate and serve the Turkish pastries sprinkled with white coconut.
