How to make
Sift the flour and the baking powder into a bowl and add the sugar and the butter, cut into little pieces. Crack the egg, add a pinch of salt, and start mixing with your fingers or with a mixer with dough attachments.
Initially, crumbs will form, but they will later form into a smooth but slightly crumbly butter dough.
The resulting dough is ideal for all kinds of biscuits and cakes that you can shape according to your taste or occasion.
You can prepare them immediately by tearing little balls and flattening them. Arrange in a baking tray, covered with baking paper, with some distance between them.
If you want to cut them into shapes, you have to wrap the dough in stretch foil and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. This will tighten the dough and will make rolling easier.
Bake the cakes at 360°F (180 degrees) for about 12-15 minutes. Depending on the size and thickness you have given to your biscuits or sweets, you will need less or more time, so watch them and as soon as they start to smell nice and start to darken slightly, take them out of the oven.
* If you use the specified amount of the ingredients you will get two standard baking trays of sweets!
