Ingredients

  • flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • nougat - 7 oz (200 g) or soft Spanish almond Turron
  • butter - 3.5 oz (100 g) soft
  • sugar - 1.8 oz (50 g)
  • For decoration
  • egg whites - 1 pc.
  • powdered sugar - 10 oz (290 g)
  • confectionery paint - color of your choice
  • sugar pearls - or figurines

How to make

Grind the nougat halva, it is soft, but this way the nuts in it will be grinded. The Spanish almond halva - Turron is also very suitable for this recipe, but only the soft one (Turron blando). I have also prepared my cookies with it.

Add the soft butter and sugar to the halva paste and beat. Add the egg and flour and knead a compact dough. Shape it into a smooth ball, wrap it with cling film and refrigerate it for 1 hour.

The hard dough is rolled out between two layers of baking paper because it is sticky and quite crumbly.

Cut out star-shaped cookies and arrange them in a tray covered with another layer of paper.

If it is difficult to transfer, the sweets are picked up with a spatula and that way they will certainly not fall apart due to their delicate structure.

Bake at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. If they are thin, 8 minutes is enough.

Do not touch the finished ones until they are cold, because when they are warm, they are very delicate and will fall apart.

If these subtleties are observed, you will have wonderful and delicious cookies that will just melt in your mouth.

To decorate the Christmas cookies, mix the ingredients specified in the decoration products. Beat well so that there are no lumps.

When the nougat cookies are completely cool, paint using a fine piping bag with a smooth-tip or however you like.

Stick pearls or sugar figurines on the icing and let it harden.
