Ingredients

  • mackerel - 2
  • tomato sauce - 2 cups (500 ml)
  • garlic - 4 - 5 cloves
  • bay leaf - 1 - 2
  • black pepper - 10 peppercorns
  • oil - 5 - 6 tbsp

How to make

Remove the heads and tails of the mackerels. Clean out their abdominal cavities and wash them thoroughly. Cut them into discs or into 2 fillets, but you can bake them whole, too.

Add salt and pour the tomato sauce over them. Add spices and sprinkle them with oil. Bake the fish at 360°F (180 °C) in a preheated oven, for about 30-40 minutes.

Serve on a plate with sauce and garnish with boiled rice.
