"This is what a sincere, chocolate declaration of love looks like."

Ingredients

  • flour - 3/4 cup
  • sugar - 1/4 cup
  • brown sugar - 1/4 cup
  • dark cocoa - 3 tbsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • vinegar - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • for the glaze
  • butter - 1 tbsp
  • powdered sugar - 2/3 cup
  • milk - 3 tsp
  • vanilla - 7 drops
measures

How to make

Sieve the flour with the cocoa. Mix the baking soda and salt with the two types of sugar. Add the water, vinegar, oil and vanilla.

Stir with a mixer on medium speed until the products are mixed well. Pour into a square greased and sprinkled with a little flour baking dish with 8 (20 cm) sides.

Preheat the oven to 360°F (180 °C). Bake 18-20 minutes. Check for readiness with a toothpick. Remove, cool for 10 minutes in the baking dish and take the cake layer out onto a cooking grid to cool completely. Cut out 4 hearts from this cake layer.

Mix the products for the glazing and beat them until you get a smooth mixture. Coat 2 of the cake layers with some of the glaze, cover with the other 2 and smear with the remaining glaze. Decorate as desired with the chocolate sprinkles, coconut, fruit, whipped cream, etc..

P.S. If you want the cake to be all chocolate, you can put 1 tablespoon cocoa into the mixture for the glaze.
