How to make
Heat the water and gradually mix the sugar, salt and yeast in it. Begin to add the flour in lots and stir.
You need to get a soft dough. Let it rise for 40 minutes. Heat oil (about 2″ (5 cm)) in a deep pot.
Put the dough in a special syringe for donuts, but if you don't have one you can scoop the dough with a spoon and drop it into the hot oil. Fry the donuts very briefly, flip over and when finished, place them onto a wire rack to drain.
If you put them directly onto paper towels, one side will soften and not remain crispy. Serve these donuts with powdered sugar, jam, honey, etc.
