Ingredients

  • flour - 2 1/2 cups
  • oil - 3/4 cup
  • tomato juice - 1 cup
  • yeast - about the size of a matchbox
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • savory - or basil

How to make

Dissolve the yeast in the tomato juice and mix with a wooden spoon with all the other products. Allow to rise for about an hour or two.

Bake the pita in a moderate oven, at about 360°F (180 °C) to a pinkish tan, then sprinkle with water and wrap them in a towel.
