After 30 minutes at 160 deg C the batter was still mostly liquid. Increased to 182 degrees C for 20 minutes and cake was set.

you could use any kind of jam - it would be perfect with blueberry jam.
As for the tray, a cake tin with a diameter of 26 cm would be enough.
